I take it all back.
This is going to be a rough 9 months.
The date is changing. Should have consulted the Jewish calendar before I set a date--as half of my family is Jewish. Of course, the date I picked falls on the first day of one of the highest holidays.
I guess this is when you are supposed to say, "oy vey."
::deep breaths::
Thanks for bringing me back down to Earth, Dad....

I LOL at this post...best of luck finding a date in the fall that doesn't coincide with one Jewish holiday or another! Mazel Tov!
Dear Mermanda,
If you lived in Vancouver, we would be drinking right now.
Love Hillary
wedding planning sucks but no matter all the stress it brings it will be totally worth it on the day. hang in there! :)
Ahh that sucks!! Stupid Jewish holidays, always ruining everything. (I'm Jewish - so don't worry!) Hahaha.
What if we promise to hold the ceremony inside of a bank and prepare a giant kreplach in lieu of a wedding cake? I think this could go over HUGE.
What's the opposite of L'Chaim?
Here are my thoughts: It's your wedding and everyone else can just get. Over. It. While I do think it's wise to take into account peoples' religions, especially if they're family, at the end of the day, IT'S YOUR DAY, NOT THEIRS. Plus, I like to believe that God is a little more forgiving than that. It's a WEDDING, home-boy will understand!
And now, if you need me, I'll be in hell...
Seriously, though, you're a better person than I am. Either that or you know all too well the Jewish guilt that will be hung over your head from here until forever for scheduling your wedding on one of the high holidays.
Oh no!! Either way, though, the location looks gorgeous! You'll get there eventually :)
This is minor and early. Don't stress!
Ok, this is going to sound REALLLLY crazy. But, I thought I saw you at Dave and Busters at the Waterfront tonight. I thought it looked like you, but "you" weren't with a guy who looked like Andrew. So I figured I was wrong. BUT, I was totally about to say "Amanda? Omg! It's Angela!" Yeah. Awkward. I'm glad I didn't say that to a total stranger haha!
Here's what I'll say....I totally get moving the day for your family, just make sure that not too many of your decisions are made around them. It is amazing how weddings can suddenly cause family members to have a lot of opinions....but you know your family better than me. I'm just talking about my experiences.
Oy vey! I read "9 months" and immediately thought there was a more different announcement than a wedding.
Amanda,
I've always enjoy reading your blog but I don't think I can handle 10 months of wedding crap. Blah. I'll be back in a year, I hope.
This made me laugh out loud - especially the "oy vey."
Just remember you JUST got engaged and have plenty of time to pick a new date. :)
Our wedding date was pretty easy since it was the anniversary of our first date. But it's very nice of you to consider your guests. GOOD LUCK!
On behalf of my peeps, sorry about that.
Aw-things will totally pull together. I was really close to having mine on Easter weekend, but the venues were already booked up for then. Ah well. Good luck with everything!
Be careful with them "nine months" phrases ;)
I know what you mean, lady. We picked ours and got a venue, so there's no way we're changing the date NOW!
Man, that's such a bummer! I know everything is going to work out for you guys though ... Keep us updated on the venue/date. Good luck!!!
Oh no! Stupid Jewish calendar..
