Even more fun than I had imagined

We are meeting our potential greyhound Sunday! EEEeeeeeeeee! I feel like a kid at Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, we went shopping for some toys for the (not-so-little) guy last night. Um... I had no idea dog toys could be this awesome.
I think we'll call this thing "Rupert Merdog"
If Lucas loves this even half as much as I do--he's going to be a very happy boy. (Yes, we decided on a name!) We also bought our future darling an extra-large Kong to stuff with peanut butter so he stays occupied in his crate while we are at work. Tell me what kinds of toys your dogs love! P.S. I forgot to celebrate my 300th post--but this is #302! Here's to 302 more!

Oh my god. That toy is HILARIOUS. Only you would find a mermaid dog doll!

Jetta has a female chicken like that with a little bikini top. What's with scandalously clap dog toys??

I LOVE the name Lucas!! How cute is that? Good luck on Sunday!!!

My dog has a ton of toys, but he has one favorite. It is a pink pig that squeaks when she chews on it. It is so freaking annoying, but it is adorable to watch her attack it. She is a shi tzu and tries to act like a vicious beast. :)

LOL! I can't wait to get a puppy for just this reason! can't wait to see pics of the new pup!

I bought my dog the chef one with the spatula...the spatula was M.I.A. 2.5 seconds after I gave it to her.

I am a dog spoiler so I'm not sure I'm the best person to give you advice because Bailey literally has a toy chest filled with crap. :-/

But that being said, I find that she prefers toys that fit in her mouth and don't drag about too much, with Lucas being bigger than my little bit maybe that won't be an issue.

I can't wait to hear how it all goes.

Rupert Merdog! I love it!

Lucas is an adorable name for a pup. I can't wait to hear about how your meeting goes.

As for dog toys - I have only found 2 dog toys that have survived Stella's jaws of death: the Nylabone Galileo bone and the Tuffy Flappy (though the Flappy is about to die.) What sort of toys to buy depends on your pup's chewing habits. Stella can't have any sort of stuffed toy because she'll rip it apart in 2.5 seconds to eat the stuffing. She's a bit evil.

Congratulations on meeting your puppy! Have fun, and good luck auditioning to be puppy parents! =)

ps - Can I beg for house pictures yet? Would that be ok?

Kyla, I swear to you they will come. But if you could peek inside my house right now... you would understand. It just started resembling a house recently... as the boxes sloooowwwwwly disappear.

My dogs LOVE those huge bones you can get from the pet store. The HUGE ones. Lucas will, too!

That mermaid is part of a line called Loofah Dogs. Every dog I know is madly attached to all loofah dogs. I don't know what it is about them, but they just go gaga over them. (not Lady Gaga though, that's just gross) Olivia has like six of them in her toy box.

I love the grin on that toy's face. Can't wait to hear all about your puppy!

The Kong has been our godsend. Dachshunds may look innocent, but they totally destroy EVERYTHING in sight. The Kong seems indestructible so far, and we rotate one out with another with peanut butter in the freezer.

Usually they're content to ruin my flip flops, which would bother me a lot more if they weren't from Old Navy!

My dog growing up (that my parents still have) loves anything that squeaks!

of coarse your dog will be a merdog - just don't tell the adoption people that. Okay? Keep the crazy inside until they hand over the pup.

Where on earth did you get that mermaid dog? I NEED one!
