The Dress Is No More

I returned the dress and I have to say it felt pretty darn good. I've been cruising the Internet for a replacement and stumbled upon this: This dress screams "FALL!" Wait, that sounds dangerous. This dress screams "AUTUMN!" I'd love to be snuggly and warm at my rehearsal dinner... but is this too casual? I'd wear this little number with these babies: And... oh... maybe this little necklace I found on Etsy... What do you think? The sweaterdress and cardigan come in nutmeg (shown), chocolate, red, grey, ivory, and black. I think I'm leaning towards either nutmeg, chocolate, or grey. Please, y'all got me this far. Don't abandon me now. EDIT: Things to consider: Will this dress be too much for my tiny frame?

Oh, I looooove this dress. Perfect for fall, and you can dress it up nicely w. accessories. The length might be a bit tricky for a petite frame, but you're probably just going to have to try it on to see what happens.

I love it and I would go with either nutmeg or chocolate with those shoes.

I agree with jive turkey though, you may have to take it up a bit.

But otherwise I think you will look divine in it.

P.S.
My shower dress was the exact opposite of what my mom wanted me to wear but it was so "Me" I couldn't resist. It was also very fall-y, my shower was in October, 2 days after a hurricane hit Miami. FUN TIMES!

That dress looks super adorable and comfy BUT I wouldn't say it's rehearsal dinner appropriate. You should wear something more fun. I mean, wedding! Woohoo! That dress is more like, "I'm going to the office (in style!)."

Coming out of lurk mode to say that you should find something more fun! I agree with Arielle- the dress is cute, but not for a rehearsal dinner.

as someone who is very petite, YES, that dress would overwhelm you. unless you don't mind taking it to a tailor to have it hemmed.

otherwise, I say, find a cocktail dress. that dress is a little too plain and you're THE BRIDE! you should sparkle or shine amongst the crowd.

I agree with Arielle too. You need something fun & flirty.

I also have to say no on the animal print.

Amber, you say fun and flirty and then you say no animal print? This does not compute. ;)

I really like this dress, but I keep picturing you in something a little more colorful. This could be a good choice, though.

ha! ha! It does kind of say "rawr" doesn't it?

I'm not really a fan of animal print- so my opinion shouldn't count.

For my rehearsal dinner, I'm wearing a white, light blue, light green flowy kind of dress, it has spaghetti straps and then I’m wearing a white halfsie lacy sweater over it.

I know that it’s hard to imagine, I will have to post a picture of it one of these days.

Okay, so I'm loving the dress. But I don't know if it would really work for us short girls? I find dresses made to cut just above the knee end up just below my knee, and then I just look like I have no legs.

(Well, really short ones.)

That is a really cute necklace though ^^

Are you very wee? How petite are we talking?

The dress is nice but not WOWZA. I feel like you should be wowza at your rehearsal dinner. However, if you are more comfortable being nutmeg, be nutmeg. It's your dinner! You're the bride, you can do whatever you want.

Hillary, I'm 5'2 and a half (that half is very important...) and a buck ten. You could call me wee.

At least we all tend to agree around here. Nice dress, but too plain for a wedding-related event. I think it would look like a sack on a petite frame. You're super cute and should have a super cute dress too :)

I think it's your day and you can do whatever you want. :)

I feel like I don't even know you anymore. You write taller.

You ask if the dress is too casual-- is your rehearsal dinner casual? In general, though, I am going to agree with the other ladies and say you need some wowsah in your dress. Maybe something slim but with a flippy hem? That's sort of mermaid-y.

That dress is super cute but not very "evening." More wow, please.

(Are you tired of us saying no?)
